The New York City Mentoring Program visits Citi Field for its Annual Citywide Spring Event!

Tuesday, July 21, 2015

This year’s annual citywide spring event was once again held at Citi Field on Wednesday, April 30th. Nearly 400 mentors, mentees, and coordinators watched while the NY Mets played against the Washington Nationals – hoping to maintain their New York winning streak. Unfortunately, the NY Mets were dealt their first home loss of 2015 but despite the outcome and unexpected chilly weather, our participants had a great time. For some, it was their first time visiting Citi Field or ever attending an MLB game. We even had a special visitor join us—Karina Bermeo, former mentee and 2007 Interpublic Group Mentoring Scholarship winner—who attended with boyfriend Gabriel Sanchez (photo on the right).  This event was a great opportunity for mentoring pairs to engage outside of the normal school/work setting and to experience one of the many sporting events NYC has to offer.

On behalf of the entire New York City Mentoring Program, we want to give a HUGE thank you to the NY Mets organization for donating the tickets and for their continuing support. Go Mets!
